SrvInstaller (Service Installer) doesn't work on Windows Server 2003.
This problem was discovered after the v1.50.2 release, and was resolved soon after; it has been fixed in the current version.
There is a known issue where the Interact With Desktop option does not work on Windows Server 2003. This can make it appear as if the service installer is not creating the service, when it actually is. However, even in that case, the SrvInstaller program launches visibly.
